Four offices to serve you:
Cpl Scott Morrison (Ret’d), CD1
National Course Booking Clerk, Commissionaires NB & PEI
Scott Morrison is a veteran of the Canadian Forces (CF) with more than 27 years of loyal and dedicated service, primarily as an infanteer in The Royal Canadian Regiment. During his military career, Scott served in various positions such as a tasking and booking non-commissioned officer (NCO), second-in-command of company stores, test driver, barrack warden, and clerk. Additionally, he took several courses that focused on such topics as mortar, pioneering and water purification, and took part in fitness, driving and parachuting training. Scott was posted to such areas as London and Ottawa (Ontario) and to CFB Gagetown (New Brunswick). He was also deployed on two overseas missions in Bosnia.
Scott is a recipient of the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD1), United Nations Protection Force Medal (UNPROFOR), Stabilisation Force Medal (SFOR), Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal (SPSM), and the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal (QGJM).
While serving in Bosnia, he sustained a spinal injury that required spinal fusion surgery. In 2006, during a conversation with a commissionaire, he was encouraged to consider a second career with the veteran-focused company. In August 2008, Scott followed through by enrolling in the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment program in advance of his medical release date from the CF in March 2009.
Commissionaires NB & PEI was there for Scott during his transition to civilian life and proud to offer him a second career. There is no question Scott was still many years away from full retirement—he is still in his mid-40s—and could offer valuable skills and experience that would be a welcome complement to the private security industry.
Today, Scott is posted as the National Course Booking Clerk at CFB Gagetown, where he is responsible for a wide variety of administrative tasks—which include booking accommodations, inputting and organizing personal data, preparing packages for courses, and seeing to the needs of all officers and participants awaiting training or release.
