About Us
Commissionaires New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island (NB & PEI) is a member division of Commissionaires, Canada's premier security company, providing service and solutions to both provinces. Our workforce of over 800 well-trained and dedicated individuals has been protecting people and property for public and private sector clients for more than 60 years.
Established in 1946 and currently located in Saint John, NB, our division provides trusted services from Saint Stephen, NB to Souris, PEI. We are mandated by legislation to find and maintain suitable employment for military veterans and RCMP and to provide means to ensure the integrity and professionalism of our membership, which includes non-veterans to assist us in the delivery of that mandate.

Our Commissionaires' Client Services Team
Most of our NB & PEI commissionaires are experienced military veterans and RCMP, augmented by non-veterans who possess a variety of qualifications needed to enhance our services. Our on-site, front line commissionaires are supported by a local area management and supervisory team composed of mostly former government, military, RCMP and commercial leaders. They in turn are supported and guided by a small head office management team and staff who reflect a broad and balanced mixture of experience and specialty skills. Our people possess post-graduate and university degrees, executive and senior leadership experience, security field skills, expert comptrollership, and human resource management expertise. These strengths provide sound planning, prudent decision-making, legal compliance, resource control, quality assurance and, most importantly, responsive field performance and support to our clients.
We maintain close business relations with all commissionaires across Canada, drawing on collective best practices in the delivery of our services. We have decentralized authorities to respond swiftly and completely to the local requirements of our clients. Most importantly, our commissionaires are trained to federal security officer standards.
Building on our extensive experience in providing guarding services to private and public sectors, NB & PEI offers the following range of related professional services and solutions, including:

- Identification services such as fingerprinting and police clearances;
- Enforcement and detention services for all levels of government.
Training Standards
As one of the main components of our Quality Assurance commitment to our clients, our basic entry training course ensures that even our newest Commissionaires are ready to responsibly and effectively protect client personnel, property and information. Our Commissionaire training conforms to the requirements of the National Standard CAN/CGSB- 133.1-2008 with additional Corps and client requirements.
Our New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island provinces do not require any specific training for security officers and guards, not withstanding, to ensure our services are second to none, all of our Members participate in a five day Commissionaires Security Officer Course (CSOC) course that covers the topics below, augmented by a three day distance learning course and a workplace First Aid Course.
